Hello, my name is Stigma-231, otherwise simply known as Stigma. I'm an admin here on the Left 4 Dead Wiki, and I've been a contributor across multiple wikis for over a year now, and in that time I've ranked up some experience. Have any questions? Feel free to leave them on my talk page. I will reply as soon as I can.
A history with Left 4 Dead? You bet. On November 11th, the demo was released. I'd been hearing things about the game for a few months then, and looking back at some of Valve's other projects that I'd played, I was both scared and intrigued (you'd really have to get my history with Ravenholm to understand). So, after a little bit of prodding by my friends, I downloaded the demo. Of course, I was quite impressed; the AI was generally good, and I wasn't quite as afraid in most situations as I'd thought I might be. I only screamed a few times, and that was only when I suddenly felt an adrenaline rush coming on (like when we were entering a safe room just as a Horde started coming our way). I wanted this game.
However, for a time, I couldn't get it. There were conflicts, my, yes. Most have been resolved, but a tense air still lingers. Long story short, I got it.
What are some of my fondest memories of Left 4 Dead? Well, there was the time where I was playing with one of my friends in one of the campaigns, Death Toll, on the chapter The Drains. A Tank suddenly spawns and starts hitting us around, but all of a sudden, a man dressed in green rose to the occasion, distracted the towering beast, and ran into the pipes with it. Alone. I was admittedly anxious, but soon I heard the Tank's music cue fade, and our hero returned completely unscathed. Later in that run, he also stood next to a pipe bomb as it went off, and took absolutely no damage (he just yelled at my friend for throwing it down next to him). I also really love a good chase. An example? Once, there was a Witch sitting near the ending safe house on The Drains, and somehow, Francis set it off. Although it was in vain (I was playing with the AI), I couldn't help but shout at everyone to get inside! Miraculously, everybody made it in without the Witch showing them their innards.
This wonderful game aside, I should probably talk a little more about myself, shouldn't I? I've always been madly in love with video games, ever since I was a little girl (yes, you read that right), although my tastes have obviously changed over the years. I used to primarily play games such as Kirby and Pokemon (what can I say? Nintendo is awesome...for the most part), but in time, I found my interest in Halo and Half-Life and other such shooters...which lead me here. I still go back from time to time, yes, but I'm most frequently found with a nice first person shooter. I'm also a bit of a Grammar Nazi at times, but not the kind to rip your arms off and spoon-feed them to you with a heaping helping of "This is why you fail," no! I simply want to help, and my goodness how some wikis need a good whipping into shape!
Hm, I guess I've run out of things to say at this very moment—what a shame! If you'd like to talk sometime, whether it be about Left 4 Dead, kittens, or the wiki itself, either look for me on the wiki's IRC channel or send me a message on my talk page, and I especially encourage you to do either if you have any questions about the wiki. I'd be more than happy to help you out—unless you're a spider, I really don't like spiders! Want to play on Xbox LIVE sometime? Look me up, then! My gamertag is Stigma 231, because I can come up with a billion different names for myself, oh boy.
Thanks for reading! I look forward to collaborating with everyone to continue making this place the best source of information about Left 4 Dead!
