|Urban Flight Chapter Chronology|
The Airfield is the fourth and final chapter of the custom campaign Urban Flight. Finally reaching the military airfield, The Survivors reach the main hangar and find a fueled up plane and pilot ready to go. The objective is for them to turn on the power and open the hangar bay door. The only thing that stands in their way is an army of Infected.

All campaign walkthroughs are done on Normal difficulty in single player, and are meant to give tips on what to do and generally point out things that might otherwise be missed.
There are, of course, a few key things to always remember:
- Stop, look, and listen.
- This cannot be stressed enough. Left 4 Dead is supposed to be a cooperative game. Communicate with your teammates, if you're playing with others, or if you're by yourself with the AI, point out things they might otherwise miss. In all cases, watch out for each other and take care of each other. You are not going to survive the zombie apocalypse by yourself.
- Be ready for anything.
- Don't panic.
Stay together and work as a team. Get the generator filled up as quickly as possible and make your way back to the hanger. Once the hanger door is open, keep together and board the moving plane.
Once everyone is fully rested and restocked on supplies and ammo, leave the safe room and head back outside, killing any nearby Infected. Follow the path outside leading to Hangar 1 of the military airfield. The airplane pilot will talk to the group of Survivors, telling them what they need to do: fill up the generator to turn on the power, and then open the hangar bay door. Head to the opposite side of the hangar to exit, watching out for hidden infected in the dark. The team will see a blocked Hangar 2 and a path leading to the garage and power generator yard. The garage is blocked, forcing the Survivors to follow the side path where they can jump down to the yard below. There may be some supplies in the truck before you jump down. Once inside the yard, highlight glows will appear and a generator indicator will pop up on the HUD. Restock on ammo near the generator and prepare to open the alarmed door. Once everyone is ready, open the door and the finale begins. The number of gas cans needed for the generator depends on the difficulty, but the survivors do not have to go far to get the fuel. Head through the storage building down to where the gas cans are and continue to fill up the generator. The Common Infected are easy to deal with. However, watch out for Special Infected, since they are difficult to spot among the crowded horde in the narrow and confined spaces.
Once the generator is filled, a Tank will spawn and the Survivors will have to face it. Be wary; the yard is fairly small, making evasion difficult. Once the Tank is defeated, head to the garage and take the alternate path that leads into the Power station. Climb the stairs up to the roof and flip the switch. Power is now on throughout the military base, which alerts the second horde wave, so head back down the stairs to the garage. Get on the vehicle lift and push the button to raise the Survivors back to the alleyway between the hangar bays. With the power on, the garage door is now open and the Survivors can now make their way back to Hangar 1 where the plane is. On your way back, the survivors pass by a Humvee with ammo in the back, which gives them a chance to restock. By this time, two Tanks will spawn simultaneously. It is better to lure the Tanks into the now brightly-lit hangar, where the Survivors can now see and use the open area to defeat the two army Tanks. Once they have been dispatched, head to the far corner and up the stairs towards the switch to open the hanger bay door. Once open, the plane will move out to the runway. Continue to fight the horde as the plane preps for take-off. Eventually, the plane will be ready for the Survivors to board. Continue to watch out for Tanks and the infected. Once everyone is aboard, the plane doors will close and a cinematic will take over, showing the plane taking off and the runway being overrun with charging infected.
- The plane featured in the finale is the same rescue vehicle from the Runway Finale in Dead Air.
- The finale is one of the most unique finales in the Left 4 Dead series, in which the Survivors have to fill up a generator, flip a switch, press a button, flip another switch and finally board the rescue vehicle.
- Similar to another custom campaign, Suicide Blitz 2, the finale features a custom skin for The Tank.
